In Bump season four we’ve jumped forward again – this time by two years. Oly’s the brand new breadwinner; Santi’s the unhappy stay-at-home dad, and the endless interventions from their big mess of a family are going to make or break them.
Oly (Nathalie Morris) and Santi (Carlos Sanson Jr) are back together, having finally stabilised their small family unit with their challenging seven-year-old Jacinda (Ava Cannon). Angie (Claudia Karvan) has moved out of the Chalmers-Davis house into a protest camp, focusing on environmental activism and the climate crisis in part as a useful distraction from her recent heartbreak. Dom (Angus Sampson) is happily re-living his share-house years with his best mate Tim, while Reema (Safia Arain) and Vince (Ioane Sa’ula) begin to reckon with the fact that their relationship may not have a viable future. A somewhat lost Bowie (Christian Byers) is struggling through his Saturn return and big questions about the direction his life should take.
As the chaos of life shows no signs of settling down, our characters look for ways to find joy in life’s many curveballs.
Along with Stan Original Bump series regulars Nathalie Morris (Petrol) and Carlos Sanson Jr (Ladies in Black), the entire Chalmers-Davis family including Logie and AACTA Award-winning actress Claudia Karvan (Spirited, The Secret Life of Us) and Christian Byers (Stan Original Series Year Of) will return along with fan favourites Ioane Sa’ula (Preppers), Safia Arain (The Appleton Ladies' Potato Race), Paula Garcia (Thirteen Lives), Ava Cannon and Claudia De Giusti. Season four will also introduce a fresh and exciting cast including award-winning, critically acclaimed stand-up comedian Steph Tisdell (Class of 07, Total Control) and Dylan Alcott AO, Australian tennis player, Australian of the Year 2022 and Paralympian.
The Stan Original Series Bump is produced by acclaimed Australian production company Roadshow Rough Diamond and its founders Dan Edwards (Stan Original Series Romper Stomper) and John Edwards (Love My Way) along with Claudia Karvan (Love My Way) and Kelsey Munro (Stan Original Series Bump S1, S2 & S3).
The series is co-created by Kelsey Munro and Claudia Karvan, with the returning Stan Original Series Bump writing team consisting of Nick Coyle (Wellmania), Jorrden Daley (The Longest Weekend), Timothy Lee (Mystery Road) and new writers Chika Ikogwe (Afro Sistahs) and Shanti Gudgeon (Stan Original Series Wolf Creek). Season four will be directed by Geoff Bennett (Stan Original Series Wolf Creek, Bump S1, S2 & S3), Margie Beattie (Stan Original Series Bump S1, S2 & S3), Rebecca O'Brien (Stan Original Series Bump S3, The Unlisted) and Ismail Khan (Barrumbi Kids).
