Highlights & expert opinions from today's shows:

Grant Hackett on the Women's and Men's 400m Freestyle and 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay showdowns in Day 1 of the swimming:

"We have assembled one of the best (Australian) teams that we have ever seen.

The Women's 400m Freestyle is Arne's to lose. We have three World Record holders (Ariarne Titmus, Katie Ledecky and Summer McIntosh) in the one race but I think Titmus can win this by a body length or more.

The Men's 400m Freestyle is going to be a tough race - there's Europeans, there's Americans - a lot of people who are going to be contenders for the Gold Medal.

We just recycle depth in the Women's 100m Freestyle here in Australia. It was incredible to see them win in London 2012, Rio 2016, 2022. Can they do it for a fourth time in a row? They are the World Record Holders and absolutely they can. I think we can really dominate that race.

With the men, if they got in the medals that would be a good result. Caleb Dressell is the Olympic Champion in the Men's 100m Freestyle but he couldn't even make the top two at USA Trials. They just have so much depth in the US but if you give Kyle Chalmers a sniff of a lead then you're in with a hope."

US swimming Gold Medallist Cullen Jones sharing his thoughts on the Ariarne Titmus v Katie Ledecky showdown tomorrow morning:

I think Katie's really focused, and i think for so long we saw Katie even from 2012 all the way through her career, she's just looked unmatched. And so for 'Arnie' to be so close and now to taking the 400m in 2021, I think it's going to be a battle, and if you ask me it's one of my favourite events, especially watching the two of them, so I'm very excited."

Casey Dellacqua on Alex De Minaur as Round 1 of the Tennis kicks off tonight:

"I am thrilled that Alex is healthy. Wimbledon is five sets but it's best of three set tennis at the Olympic Games in the early rounds and he loves the Green and Gold… he turns into a different Demon."

Michael Hooper on Australia's chances against Fiji in the Men's Rugby Sevens Semi-Final:

“They’ve got nothing to lose, this team. It’s the first time they’ve ever been into a semi-final in the Olympics - just play, go out there to win.”
