Swimming

  • Kaylee McKeown has won the 200m Backstroke to become the first swimmer in Olympic history to win the 100-200 backstroke double at back-to-back Games. She then still had the energy to qualify for tomorrow's 200m Individual Medley Final along with Emma Ramsay.
  • Less than 10 minutes before Cameron McEvoy's unique training regimen bore the ultimate reward, becoming Australia's first-ever Gold Medallist in the Men's 50m Freestyle.

Cycling - BMX Racing

  • Saya Sakakibara has won Australia's first medal in Olympic BMX Racing and it is Gold, winning every race through every round to create history after crashing out in the semis in Tokyo.

Rowing

  • Women's Pair Jess Morrison & Annabelle McIntyre used the pain of Tokyo, where they missed the pairs medal race by 0.34 seconds after weather scheduling changes left them with just two hours to recover between races, to hold on in their final to win the Bronze Medal.

Tennis

  • Matt Ebden and John Peers are into the Men's Doubles Gold Medal match after defeating USA's Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul in straight sets. They now play fourth seeds Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram (USA).

Sailing

  • Tokyo Gold Medallist Matt Wearn sits first in the Men's Dinghy standings after four races.
  • Grae Morris needs to wait another day to contest the Men's Windsurfing Final, with conditions pushing the race back to Saturday.

Athletics

  • Tokyo Silver Medallist Nicola Olyslagers and 2022 World Champion Eleanor Patterson are both safely through to the Women's High Jump Final.
  • Rose Davies is through to the Women's 5000m Final, finishing just 0.13s behind the winner of her heat.
  • Bree Masters (Women's 100m) and Claudia Hollingsworth (Women's 800m) have moved into their Semi-Finals with top-three finishes in their opening races.
  • Tokyo Bronze Medallist Ashley Moloney was forced to withdraw from the Men's Decathlon prior to the High Jump due to injury.

Water Polo

  • The Stingers remain undefeated and moved to the top of Group A with a 10-7 victory over Canada.

3x3 Basketball

  • The Gangurrus split their overnight matches with a win over Azerbaijan and a loss to Spain. With one pool match still to play, they are still a chance to finish top two and receive direct passage to the semis.

Canoe Slalom

  • In the new Kayak Cross discipline, time trials were held to determine the matchups in Round 1. Jess Fox was second fastest in the Women's event with sister Noemie eighth. In the Men's event, Tim Anderson and Tristan Carter finished 20th and 22nd respectively.

Boxing

  • Tina Rahimi (Women's 57kg) and Teremoana Teremoana (Men's +92kg) have both fallen today. They were the last remaining Australians in the Boxing competition.

Hockey

  • India defeated the Kookaburras 3-2 meaning Australia finish third in their pool and will play Germany or Great Britain in the Quarter-Finals.

Swimming

  • Leon Marchand's status as the home-country star of Paris 2024 was confirmed further with victory in the Men's 200m Individual Medley in Olympic Record time.

Athletics

  • World Record holder Joseph Cheptegei has won the first Gold Medal on the Track, adding the 10,000m title to his 5000m Gold in Tokyo. The Ugandan set a new Olympic Record in a race where less than one second separated the top six.

Basketball

  • NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo led all-scorers as Greece outlasted the Boomers 77-71. Australia's strong second half reduced the margin of defeat to ensure they finished second in Group A behind Canada.

BMX Racing

  • France have taken a rare 1-2-3 in the Men's BMX with World Champion Joris Daudet finishing ahead of Sylvain Andre and Romain Mahieu. Australia's Izaac Kennedy crashed out mid-race while in medal contention.

Golf

  • Xander Schauffele (USA), Hideki Matsuyama (JPN) and Tommy Fleetwood (GBR) share the lead after the second round at 11-under, two shots clear of Jon Rahm (ESP).

Tennis

  • Iga Świątek (POL) defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (SVK) in straight sets to win the Women's Singles Bronze Medal.
  • A blockbuster Men's Singles Final is in store with Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) and Novak Djokovic (SRB) both scoring comfortable Semi-Final victories.
