February 14, 2025 - First look images have been released showing Keeley Hawes (Scoop, Miss Austen) and Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor, Bates Motel) in writing duo Harry and Jack Williams’ latest action-packed drama series, The Assassin, coming soon, only on Stan.

The series, produced by award-winning production company Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, The Missing, Fleabag), is set against the idyllic backdrop of a remote Greek island. The images see retired assassin Julie (Keeley Hawes) and her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore) as they are forced to work together in a fight for survival. Amid questions around Edward’s paternity and Julie’s dangerous past catching up with her, the pair are forced to flee the island and go on the run together.

Alongside Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, who each serve as Executive Producers,The Assassin also stars Gina Gershon (Riverdale, New Amsterdam), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The Tourist, Baby Reindeer), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show, Pirates of the Caribbean), Alan Dale (Dynasty, Lost) Gerald Kyd (The Swarm, The Split), Devon Terrell (Stan Original Series Good Cop/Bad Cop and Totally Completely Fine), Richard Dormer (Blue Lights, Game of Thrones) and David Dencik (The Ipcress File, No Time To Die).

Keeley Hawes said: “I feel so lucky to have spent the summer in Athens with the wonderful Freddie Highmore, and surrounded by a cast and crew of such high calibre. Bringing Jack and Harry’s spectacular scripts to life was an absolute joy - going to work has never been so much fun. I hope everyone enjoys The Assassin as much as we did.”

The Assassin is a Two Brothers Pictures (an All3Media company) production for Prime Video, in association with All3Media International, ZDF and Stan. The 6x60 drama has been written and created by Harry and Jack Williams (The Tourist, Boat Story, The Missing) with Krissie Ducker (Killing Eve, Sweetpea), Hamish Wright (Significant Other) - who serve as executive producers - and Selina Lim (Sex Education) also writing. Sarah Hammond (TheTourist, Boat Story), Daisy Mount (Wilderness, The Rig) and Alex Mercer (The Tourist, Inside Man) serve as executive producers for Two Brothers Pictures. Nige Watson (One Day) is producer with Lisa Mulcahy (The Tourist) directing episodes 1-3 and Daniel Nettheim (The Tourist) directing episodes 4-6. Kelly Valentine Hendry (Bridgerton) and Jessica Mescall (Mary & George) serve as casting directors. Faliro House Productions are the Greek service company. Stan Executive Producers are Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie.
