Thou Shalt Not Steal leads with eight nominations including Best Drama Series, with Exposure receiving seven nominations including Best Miniseries.

December 7, 2024 – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, today celebrates 20 nominations for the 2025 AACTA Awards, with Thou Shalt Not Steal recognised with eight nominations and Exposure honoured with seven nominations. A further five nominations were received across Stan Originals including Bump Season 4, Prosper, Revealed: Otto By Otto and Revealed: Ben Roberts-Smith Truth On Trial.

The Stan Original Series Thou Shalt Not Steal has been honoured with a nomination for Best Drama Series, along with seven additional nominations including Best Lead Actor in a Drama for Noah Taylor, Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for Sherry-Lee Watson, Best Direction in Drama or Comedy, Best Cinematography in Television, Best Screenplay in Television, Best Original Score in Television and Best Sound in Television.

From AACTA Award winning filmmaker Dylan River, Thou Shalt Not Steal is an ‘80s road series produced by multi-Emmy® and BAFTA Award-winning Ludo Studio with Since 1788 Productions starring Noah Taylor, Miranda Otto, Will McDonald and Sherry-Lee Watson. The series follows Robyn (Watson), a young Aboriginal delinquent searching for the truth behind a mysterious family secret, who escapes from detention and reluctantly teams up with awkward teenager Gidge (McDonald). Together they flee her small central desert community on a perilous journey across the outback. Hot on their heels are Maxine (Otto), a sex trafficker whose taxi Robyn stole, and Gidge’s domineering father Robert (Taylor), a fraudulent preacher.

The Stan Original Series Exposure has been recognised with seven nominations including Best Miniseries, Best Supporting Actress in a Drama for Essie Davis, Best Cinematography in Television, Best Editing in Television, Best Original Score in Television, Best Production Design in Television and Best Sound in Television.

Created and written by Lucy Coleman, directed by Bonnie Moir and produced by Thirdborn, Exposure is a raw psychological thriller led by Alice Englert that follows photographer Jacs Gould (Englert) who returns to her hometown of Port Kembla after the death of her friend to discover the hidden secrets of their relationship and the truth behind the tragedy.

Directed by Gracie Otto and produced by Nicole O’Donohue and Cody Greenwood, the Stan Original Documentary Revealed: Otto By Otto has secured two AACTA nominations - Best Documentary and Best Original Score in a Documentary. The documentary celebrates Gracie’s father, Australian theatre and film icon Barry Otto, and looks at the world through Barry’s eyes delving deep into his broad repertoire of work. Gracie also captures intimate observations of her father as he faces the challenges of encroaching dementia and introduces the complex themes of ageing, the human spirit, family and the artist. ​ ​

The smash-hit Stan Original Series Bump Season 4 also received a nomination for Best Narrative Comedy Series. The family-driven drama starring Nathalie Morris, Carlos Sanson Jr., Claudia Karvan (who also serves as co-creator and series producer) and Angus Sampson is produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond and its founders Dan and John Edwards. Bump Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 are now streaming with the brand-new final season premiering Boxing Day, only on Stan.

Further nominations include Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for Ewen Leslie’s performance in the Stan Original Series Prosper, produced by Lingo Pictures, part of ITV Studios, and Best Editing in a Documentary for the Stan Original Documentary Revealed: Ben Roberts-Smith Truth On Trial, produced and directed by Dora Weekley, and executive produced by Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie.
