VIC ZERBST AND JENNA OWEN CELEBRATE THE STAN ORIGINAL FILM ​
​NUGGET IS DEAD: A CHRISTMAS STORY AT A SPECIAL EVENT SCREENING.
​PREMIERES NOVEMBER 21, ONLY ON STAN

November 18, 2024 – Stan, Australia’s unrivalled home of original productions, tonight celebrated the upcoming Stan Original Film Nugget Is Dead: A Christmas Story, with a special event screening ahead of the premiere this Thursday November 21, only on Stan.

Writers and lead cast Vic Zerbst and Jenna Owen were reunited with their four legged friend Reuben who plays the role of Nugget and celebrated their ‘Christmas tail’ with co-stars Mandy McElhinney, Steve Rodgers, Tara Morice, Priscilla Doueihy, Claude Jabbour, Ed Oxenbould, Diana McLean, Leiong Hu and Tiriel Mora. 

In attendance Stan Chief Executive Officer Martin Kugeler who addressed the audience with Commissioning Editor, Stan Originals Donna Chang and Easy Tiger Executive Producers Rob Gibson and Ian Collie.

Also in attendance Stan Head of Originals Amanda Duthie, Director Imogen McCluskey and Producer Naomi Just.

Writers and lead cast Vic Zerbst and Jenna Owen said: "This movie is about bringing people together and it has been a big journey for us and a surreal moment from when people first liked our script to when we managed to attach the cast. This is a cast that everyone is extremely jealous that we had the chance to work with and assemble, a combination of people that was very inspired. We are extremely grateful for this moment and for everyone that brought it together."

The film produced by Easy Tiger and CBS Studios is the debut feature of Zerbst and Owen, best known for their original sketch comedy work amassing over 90 million views online. The film stars Vic Zerbst (The Feed), Jenna Owen (The Feed), Gia Carides (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Damien Garvey (Rake) and Mandy McElhinney (Love Child). The cast also includes Australian favourites, including Steve Rodgers (Stan Original Series Bump), Alec Snow (NCIS: Sydney), Tara Morice (Strictly Ballroom), Priscilla Doueihy (Lioness: Special Ops), Claude Jabbour (The Stan Original Series Eden), Ed Oxenbould (Stan Original Film Christmas Ransom), Diana McLean (North Shore), Lelong Hu (Strife), Tiriel Mora (The Castle), Alexei Toliopoulos (Heartbreak High) and Kerry Armstrong (Frayed). 

The Stan Original Film Nugget Is Dead: A Christmas Story is produced by Easy Tiger and CBS Studios with principal production investment from Screen NSW. The film is directed by Imogen McCluskey, written by Vic Zerbst and Jenna Owen, produced by Naomi Just (Stan Original Film Christmas Ransom) and executive produced by Rob Gibson and Ian Collie (Stan Original Series Scrublands). Cailah Scobie and Donna Chang are executive producing for Stan. The film is distributed outside of Australia by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
